Do you have to present in public in English or another language that is not your own native language? A little bit of coaching could make a big difference.
Why should I invest in language-coaching for my presentation? What would it involve?
The success of presentations depends on the thing (content), the speaker (you) and the audience. You cannot control everything but it helps to anticipate. Before you go on stage, you can rehearse with an expert who will identify problem areas based on your language mastery or the way you deliver, and provide quick solutions. The solutions are never 100%, but that is not the point: you want to minimize errors, compensate for any limitations, and hopefully find ways to make your language and cultural difference a point of positive interest for the audience. Carpe diem.
Services We Provide
Our team includes professionals with experience as speakers and presenters on business and academic topics. Before you present at an event you can rehearse and be coached for improvement in language-issues, articulation for public speaking, and general content delivery. Academic domains include humanities, social sciences and hard sciences. Business domains include general marketing and technical descriptions. We diagnose your strengths and weaknesses and figure how you can best redress the weaknesses in the time available before the presentation.

What Sets Us Apart
Practice and rehearsal ahead of an important delivery is hugely beneficial. We note both linguistic and content-based issues for improvement. We simulate the free (unscripted) question time which follows many presentations so the presenter can fine-tune possible responses and strategies for enhancing the audience’s participation. We address both language delivery and also the content as information flow and graphic illustration. The success of a presentation depends on the interaction and integration of all these features.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Cost Basis for This Service
The fee is essentially based on the number of contact hours between coach and client. Much practice is done without the coach and without a fee. The “contact hours” refers to the time spent together in which the client performs and the coach diagnoses the performance and advises on what skills the client should practice going forward. The more proactive the client is, the less hours needed. This can provide a great return for a relatively low outlay, which is appropriate since the client is usually a solo individual (his or her institution or employer is typically not a financial sponsor). |
How It Works
(i) Contact us to explain your needs and see if we can work together effectively. (ii) Together, we construct a coaching plan with a schedule for the anticipated contact-hours. We figure a fee, and provide a quote and contact-hour schedule. (iv) You confirm that quote or request a modification to the services entailed; we then convert the quote to a billable invoice (v) You pay 50% of the initial package price in advance; you pay the remaining 50% at the half-way point in the sequence of scheduled sessions. At this half-way point you also have the option to stop with no further fee (the remaining 50% fee is canceled). *Note re re-scheduling of sessions: if you request a rescheduling of sessions due to changes in your availability, we will accommodate as far as possible without any additional fee to you, but based on our own availability and at our discretion; last-minute rescheduling is likely to be accepted only once; timely re-scheduling requests are likely to be accommodated. |
